Stand Down

Deployment is not authorized at this level

CERT volunteers have not been requested or are no longer needed. Equipment should be stored appropriately and periodically maintained until needed. 


ALERT

Deployment is not authorized at this level

This level requires no immediate response action by CERT volunteers. This is an advisory that CERT team leaders have been notified of an emergency management activity which may require CERT assistance during an incident. We will not have a mission at this level, but you should have your equipment (PPE) ready.  


SELECTIVE DEPLOY

Deployment is only authorized for CERT volunteers who have been directly contacted and scheduled for deployment

This is an advisory that CERT team leaders have been notified of a scheduled emergency management activity which will require extended CERT assistance during an incident. CERT leaders will schedule volunteers for the activity once availability has been determined and confirm with each individual. Specific deployment instructions including rally point, date, time, activity and equipment requirements will be provided with the confirmation. Planning leaders will report their schedules to the Napa County OES or coordinating official as soon as possible. Upon completing the scheduled activity, the team leader will provide the appropriate contact with an updated status and results of the activity.


PREPARE

Deployment is not authorized at this level

CERT Team leaders and volunteers are to prepare for possible deployment within 12 to 24 hours and should remain on standby until notified of an assignment. Upon prepare notification, CERT leaders will contact their volunteers via text message, voice-call, or other means to advise them of the pending situation and determine their availability and status. Team leader will report status of their team members (who are ready to respond) to the Napa County OES or notifying official as soon as possible. Personal equipment and supplies, vehicles and kits of food, water and clothing should be checked, assembled and packed for deployment.


DEPLOY

Deployment is authorized for ALL CERT volunteers to proceed without delay to their normal rally point or other area as designated by the Napa County OES or team leader. The team leader will notify all CERT volunteers to deploy and provide a status report of member’s availability back to the appropriate contact or notifying official as soon as possible. Once the team is operational and on-scene, the team leader will notify the appropriate contact or notifying official with an updated status and await further instructions.
